Spring In Utah
Utah is an amazing state in the spring. There is so much to do that you will never run out of fun things to do outside with your family. Those that are not ready to let go of winter sports will still find plenty of snow in the mountains of northern Utah for skiing and snowmobiling. Outdoor enthusiasts that love the sun and warm weather will find warm weather in southern Utah. Fishermen and those that love to spend time on the water will find that the lakes and rivers of Utah are free of ice and fishing is great. There is so much to do in Utah it is hard to list just a handful of activities to do in Utah in the spring, but we will do our best to pick our favorite five Utah spring activities.
Exploring national parks in southern Utah is amazing any time of year, but the spring is especially spectacular. In the spring the crowds are minimal, and the weather is beautiful. Moab has Arches and Canyonlands National Parks that are two of the most iconic national parks in the country. Kanab is a great central location to explore Bryce Canyon, Zion, and Grand Canyon National Park. Saint George is also a great location to vacation in the spring and explore Zion National Park and Red Cliffs National Recreation Area.
Skiing and snowmobiling in the spring is a great time to get out and enjoy the greatest snow on earth. The weather is mild in the spring, so it is a great time to get up in the mountains and ski the world-famous ski resorts and ride the trails in the beautiful mountains of Utah. The Heber Valley is a great location to access both world-class ski resorts just up the road in Park City and beautiful snowmobiling trails in the mountains above Heber.
Spring fishing in Utah is some of the best of the year. The ice comes off the lakes and the rivers in March and the fish are active and hungry in April and May. Northeastern Utah has the Green River drainage coming out of the south slope of the Uinta Mountains. There are endless rivers, streams, and lakes in northeastern Utah to fish and explore. This area is a paradise for those that love to be on the water and do some fishing.
